Recentemente intervistato durante il podcast di Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon, il bassista di lunga data dei Kick Axe, Victor Langen, ha rivelato che la storica band canadese si è messa al lavoro su nuovo materiale.
"Sì, siamo proprio nel bel mezzo di questo", ha spiegato il musicista. "Il problema che abbiamo è che sebbene viviamo tutti nella zona di Vancouver, ci vediamo raramente con quello che sta succedendo. Adesso il mondo intero è cambiato da quando c’è stato tutto questo isolamento. Abbiamo diverse strutture di registrazione, due studi, insomma tutto il necessario. Larry Gillstrom e Raymond Harvey hanno accesso a tutte queste cose e sono abbastanza attivi lì. Abbiamo registrato già alcune cose ed è solo questione di completarle. Poi tieni presente che noi siamo i nostri stessi peggiori critici. Viene sempre fuori roba del tipo: aaah, non è abbastanza buono... aaah, così non va bene. Ma vedrai che in qualche modo ce la faremo".
Riguardo a come suoneranno le nuove canzoni, Langen ha poi dichiarato: "Siamo più che pronti a ripartire! Non ci resta che attendere il via libera degli scienziati. Al momento non possiamo fare niente, ma il ferro è ben caldo... Gran parte dei brani ricorderà i bei vecchi tempi, gli anni Ottanta, ed altre saranno più attuali, ma tutte con base di partenza sempre di quel periodo".Recently interviewed during the Rock Talk podcast With Mitch Lafon, longtime Kick Axe bassist Victor Langen revealed that the historic Canadian band got to work on new material.
"Yes, we are right in the middle of this," explained the musician. "The problem we have is that although we all live in the Vancouver area, we do rarely see with what's going on. Now the whole world has changed since there was all this isolation. We have several structures recording, two studios, in short, everything you need. Larry Gillstrom and Raymond Harvey have access to all these things and are quite active there. We have already recorded some things and it is only a matter of completing them. Then keep in mind that we are our own worst critics. Stuff always comes up like: aaah, it's not good enough... aaah, so it's not good. But you will see that somehow we will do it."
As to how the new songs will sound, Langen then said: "We are more than ready to start again! We just have to wait for the green light of the scientists. At the moment we can not do anything, but the iron is very hot... Most of the songs will remember the good old days, the eighties, and others will be more current, but all with a starting base always from that period".
