KICK AXE "Rock the World" - ROADRUNNER-DONOSTI ROCK - It is symptomatic the lack of interest of the big companies towards the bands; for example CBS, after releasing Kick Axe's, "Vices" and "Welcome to the Club", they have not been involved with them, they have been about to disappear, if they don't release this work through an independent label. This quartet from Vancouver (Canada), have a good taste and an excellent vocal sound, they are not too AOR and their product is powerful despite their melodic sound. Larry Gillstrom, guitar and keyboards, is the main producer and composer, his brother Brian is the drummer, George Criston sings and Victor Langen plays bass and keyboards. "Medusa", "Magic Man" or "The Dark Crusade", are some good songs, well constructed although of medium tempo, the title track of the album is totally a hit and the version they do of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain", fantastic and in accordance with their good vocals. A band that has pleasantly surprised me, but that I'm afraid will change their name and perhaps their style. It would be a pity.
