Local bands such as Straw Dog and Kick Axe are still recovering from the theft of an estimated $50,000 of its equipment from a Henry Avenue rehearsal hall recently.
Straw Dog, which performs Sunday evening at Le Rendez-Vous, lost amps and a spare guitar worth $3,000 to $4,000.
Kick Axe took more of a kick in the teeth, losing much of its equipment. "It was a professional job," said Alex Chuaqui, 28, formerly of Queen City Kids. "The gear is out of the city by now."
