The June 27 concert of Kick Axe, scheduled for Riverside Park, has been postponed until August due to conflicts arising from the recording of the band's newest album in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The concert is being sponsored by Y-City Lion's Club. Attaxe is the other band scheduled to perform with Kick Axe. Kick Axe is four-piece hard-rock band from Canada.

The group has Larry Gillstrom on lead guitar and vocals, Victor Langen on bass guitar and vocals, Brian Gillstrom on drums and vocals and Georgte Criston (the only American with the band) on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.

Kick Axe first appeared on an album doing a cover version of Humble Pie's "Thirty Days in the Hole" for the soundtrack of the movie "Up the Creek".

They went on to record their debut album "VICES" in 1984 and opened for Judas Priest's "Defenders of the Faith" tour. The band then toured with the Scorpions, Quiet Riot and Helix.

George Criston is the only American with Kick Axe, a fourpiece Canadian hard rock band. Kick Axe's local concert, scheduled for June 27, has been postponed until August because of conflicts arising from the band recording an album.
